Agimat, is a Filipino word for "amulet" or "charm". History conveyed that the Agimat was inspired by Catholic and Latin during the Spanish era. It was believe that these special amulets were to protect them against arrows, spears, swords, and sickness. Eskrimadors and freedom fighters wore their amulet to protect them from their deathmatches, and were used in the battle front.
The Latin inscription around the amulet was inspired and made for a warrior's creed.
"Fortune favors the brave.
Mind should be emptied, yet conscious of its surroundings.
Body must be built to function to its limitless potential
Soul will be cleansed with humility and integrity
Blood that will spill will only be from the enemies"
