The design for this cap was inspired by the Coat of Arms logo of the 1st Filipino Regiment. The three stars are taken from the Philippines’ flag that symbolizes the three principal islands, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The cross kriss and Igorot war shield represents the two dominant war-like pagan tribes of the islands.
The bottom of the brim is a photograph of the Filipino soldiers getting ready for battle. Wielding their choice of weapon, the Bolo knife, as part of their field equipment, and the national weapon of the Philippines.
